Share Selectively

It has become apparent that people in present-day society love to share every intimate detail of their lives on their Facebook, Myspace,or Twitter profiles. After all, this is what we have been trained to do from childhood-share. But there is a certain point when one needs to just keep information to themselves. Many individuals are having trouble finding the line that makes the distinction between internet safe and just flat out stupid to post online.

When one creates their page, they are given options about who they would like to allow access to their page and the user has the option at any time to block a fellow user who they feel are acting inappropriately towards them. Many users are not aware of this function or just chose to ignore that it is there.

Another problem that can quickly arise, is individuals confirm others as "friends" without really knowing who they are. This is extremely dangerous, but it happens on a daily basis. If the individual would only confirm friends they actually knew, it could greatly reduce their chance of having problems with cyberstalking, hacking, and cyberbullying.

It is always a good idea to keep your personal information off the internet. Anyone can get their hands on it if they really have a desire to do so.
